A Summer's reading

In the story "A Summer's Reading" we get to know George, who is one of the main characters in the story. George is a young man who finds himself out of school and out of the education system because of his personality and his personal philosophy.

In the sroty, we get to know George's sister, Sophie, who resembles George, a tall bony girl. From the description of Sophie we can imagine how George looks like, a bony, tall boy, who is twenty years old. He does not have a job and does not read at all, except from some magazines and fact stories. George lives above a butcher store in the Bronx, New York.

George's personality is typical to his behavior, he is a lazy boy, without any hope to achieve a better future. In addition, George is embarrassed in the lack of his education and in his meetings with Mr. Cattanzara he lies to him and tells him that he is reading books. Mr. Cattanzara helped George change becaus he is the only one who actually treated with a comprehension and encouraged him.

Along the story we encounter the different behaviors of George. He postpones his assignments and he is unwilling to change his life and receive education even if it starts from books. He is unwilling even to get the chance to successed in his life, but after all the story showed me that everting is possible and you will succeed only if you want this.
