Gilad Shalit is an Israeli solider who was captured on 25th June 2006 by palestinians militants near the Gaza Strip. Shalit since then has been held hostage by Hamas. On the 28th of August his family mentioned his fourth birthday far from them. In those days, Israel is leading negotiations in order to bring him back. How can a country wait all this time without doing it's maximum efforts to bring one boy in the middle of his military service?
All around Isreal you can hear "bring Shalit home" but the truth is that he will come back home but not at any price. It's already nearly 4 years and he is still not here. The goveronment didn't do any thing but state that Israel wanted Shalit home, but not at any cost.
When I think about Gilad and his family it makes me furios. I think that the country showed apathy to Gilad's case and his family. In addition, I'm sure that if the son of the prime minister were in Shalit's situation a day wouldn't pass without bringing him back home.
Finally, I hope that the country will do its best and all the efforts in order to bring him back home. I just hope that Gilad will come back home soon, and his family could celebrate his next birthday with him.
